I am currently a museum studies student at Tusculum College in Tennessee 
and thought that my two cents might help with this matter. I enjoy this 
program. It teaches me and my fellow students about a world that we would 
otherwise be thrust into with only a degree in history, art, conservation, etc. 
We learn all aspects that are essential to the profession. Though our program 
is small, we get insight and the networking needed to be successfull in this 
field. While I do aprreciate the help that I have gotten, this seems to be 
something that most students looking to get jobs overlook. Education in all 
areas is required as museums generally need help in all areas. Those who work 
in small to medium museums know this too well. Luckily, I have an astouding 
professor with years of experience under his belt and museums right on 
campus that give the students hands-on experience. My only regret is that 
there aren't more programs like ours in the US that we can share our 
experiences with.
