Alexandra,

No! Vinegar (acetic acid) causes irreversible changes in wood and can darken
it , depending on the wood type and it's condition. Not to mention what the
acid  will do to nails, etc.

A much better approach would be to have a reversible finish on the floors,
such as wax, that would isolate the wood from whatever gets spilled so that
the accident and products that are used to clean it up do not interact with
the original wood surface.

I am sure that Mark Williams can offer much more sage advice on this one.
