Virginia W. Hill Foundation Education Associate
The Hill Education Associate will facilitate museum education programs for all ages including school groups, scouts, and adult groups to support the Museum's mission. This position will spend the majority of their time performing outreach programs as well as conducting tours for school groups coming to the museum. They will also help facilitate evaluation efforts both onsite and offsite.

Objectives: The objective of this position is: to function as a professional within a museum environment, as well as in the broader community of museums; to increase awareness of current and practical museum issues and trends; to gain knowledge of the organizational structure of a museum and to develop understanding of governance and administrative operations; to acquire knowledge and skills related to specific areas of museum work; to develop the ability to identify, assess, and solve on-the-job museum problems; and to assess and re-assess individual professional goals and development.

Requirements:
A B.A. or working towards a degree in Education, Museum Studies, Child Development, History and/or Social Studies is required.  Knowledge of Denver, exemplary verbal and written communication, interest or experience in object/inquiry based learning, the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and a love of working with the public in various settings and people of all ages is recommended.

This is a temporary grant funded paid position, working 24 hours a week, Wednesday-Friday, for 40 weeks, at a $11.00 an hour rate of pay. This position must be able to work flexible hours.  This position is for immediate hire and will run through December.

Background check will be required.  Personal transportation is also required as this position travels to various schools and locations in the Denver Metro area.
