Taiwan is still traditional chinese.  I can have a friend look at it who is tawanese and lives in beijing now

Hi all,

I send it to a native speaker and she also has problems figuring out the 
said character. The characters are traditional Chinese and most students 
nowadays only learn simplified Chinese. I'll send it to Katie as soon as 
my friend has figured it out.
