**ARCS/FAIC Alternative Courier Practices Webinar**
The Foundation for Advancement in Conservation (FAIC) and the Association
of Registrars and Collections Specialists (ARCS) presents the upcoming
online workshop “Alternative Courier Practices” taking place on November 14
& 16, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. ET. The workshop will be led by
Lauren Fly, Ana Muñoz, and Samantha Springer.
Led by both registrars and conservators, this workshop is intended for any
collections care professional whose work involves organizing loans and
exhibitions, or acting as a courier. The two sessions will explore the
logistics and methods implemented by professionals in the field, discuss
considerations taken into account in choosing appropriate options, and
share tips and tricks for successful couriering projects. Workshop
participants will take part in discussions and Q&A sessions that will
deepen their working knowledge of both alternatives, allowing them to make
fully informed decisions of how and when to implement alternative practices.

The live sessions for the workshop will take place on Zoom and automated
captions will be available. All live sessions will be recorded and
accessible to participants shortly after the session is complete.

Fee
The registration fee is $69 for AIC and ARCS members and $89 for
non-members. To receive the member rate, ARCS members should contact

***2023 Conference***
**Registration - Update**
Registration has closed for the ARCS 2023 Conference. Along with that, we
are no longer taking waitlist requests. Anyone who is already on the
waitlist will be contacted if a registration spot opens up.

***Volunteer and become a member of an ARCS Committee!***
Are you looking to get involved, expand your professional network, and help
ARCS put on incredible programs, conferences, or help with other
initiatives that benefit our members? Here are the current open volunteer
positions with ARCS:

The current available positions are:
-Fundraising Committee (Seeking - 2 Members) The Fundraising Subcommittee,
serving under the Finance Committee, is seeking enthusiastic and creative
ARCS members to volunteer with us to develop and implement a plan to
increase non-dues revenue. We meet virtually on the last Wednesday of each
month to discuss strategies for cultivating new sponsors, building stronger
connections to our current supporters, and to assist with funding for ARCS
activities and programming. A person with skills in graphic design and copy
editing would benefit our subcommittee. We want more diversity and a
variety of perspectives to be included in our efforts.
-Mentorship Committee (Seeking - 3 Members) The Mentorship Program
Subcommittee monitors and implements the joint ARCS and AAM’s Collections
Stewardship Professional Network mentorship program. They oversee
recruitment and matching of mentors and mentees, and identify creative ways
to promote the program and ways to expand mentoring access and events. If
you want to help make a major impact on the collections field, and help
guide emerging museum professionals through their early career path, then
this committee is for you!
-Partnerships: (Seeking - 2 members) The Partnerships Committee seeks out
and creates ongoing partnerships with outside organizations in order to
meet the needs of members and fulfill the mission of ARCS. Committee
members will advise on partnerships to create, tend to existing
partnerships, and create MOUs for new partnerships.
