I am posting the following job on behalf of Nathan Younger, assistant park
manager at Chippokes Plantation State Park in Surry, Virginia.
http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/chi.shtml

The park is located along the James River, opposite Jamestown, and is the
site of the Chippokes Plantation Farm and Forestry Museum as well as the
mid-1850s mansion house that was the home of Chippokes' last private
owners, the Stewarts. The collection is very large and documentation is
proceeding slowly; the collections manager will be working with park staff
and volunteers to get everything documented.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in collections
management to work with a broad collection of domestic furnishings, tools,
agricultural equipment, documents and photographs. The location is
beautiful, and the park staff, both paid and volunteer, excellent to work
with.

The job description and information on applying are here:
http://dcrintra.dcr.virginia.gov/DCR_Public/Jobs/JobList.cfm. The job is
listed as "Education Support Spec. I", and the position closes 1/25/2013.

Martha Katz-Hyman
Curator
Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation
Williamsburg, VA
