Somewhat aside of the subject, but perhaps an indication of a coming trend,
take a look at the article in SCIENCE 264(5163):1277-1279, 27 May 1994, which
discusses "Contacts With the West Bring Cultural Revolution." In it, there
is some info on Russian researchers'/collections' attitudes towards the
sale/coveting/access to their data and collections/samples.
