For anyone with connections to the Eastern Illinois University Historical Administration Program, a get-together is being planned for AAM.  Please read below for additional information:

Hi all,
Several HA alums suggested Brit’s Pub for our venue.  It’s a large place that can easily handle our group, separate checks, etc.

There are no gaps in the program schedule and no ideal time, so let’s go with Mon April 30 starting at 4:30.  For those attending one of the evening events, Brit’s is a couple of blocks from the Convention Center which should allow you to make it to the Center to catch the shuttles by 6:30 (at the latest).  Hopefully this will serve as a convenient time and venue and you can join us .  (Coincidentally, the AAM Committee for Green Museums will be meeting at Brit’s from 5:30-6:30.)

It will be great to get together again to share stories and memories.  I have included Dr. Bill Eiland in this invitation as well.  Many of you will remember his excellent keynote address at the 2007 HAPA symposium.  Hopefully Dr. Eiland can find a little time to sneak away from conference obligations.  As a former AAM board member and recipient of numerous professional awards, his insights are greatly appreciated.

Please also consider inviting other attendees who may have an interest in learning more about the HA program, especially students and young professionals.  If you know of other Twin Cities area HA alums who are not attending the conference, please let them know.

Hope to see everyone there and safe travels,
Joe Kapler
