Janis,
Can you describe in detail what is being stiffened or shaped? Each location
and type of shaping/stiffening have different terms/lexicon. Is it
permanent or just used to shape it while drying?
It could be:
Stay
Interfacing
Facing
Boning
Padding
Form
Clothes Tree

Here's a test for you. What would you call an object that is made to go
inside a piece of clothing to shape and/or stiffen it? And what
category/sub-category would you put it in?
(If I knew the answer, I wouldn't be asking!)
