Dear Folks,

I am a graduate student in Chicago, working on an assignment were we explore cultural policy issues. In Los Angeles, Long Beach - East Village, there has been some reconstructing and development in establishing a neighborhood were artists can work in an ideal community in order to help the whole neighborhood succeed. This is a multi-dimensioanl work where various perspectives need to be considered.

I am interested in talking to people from this area about how this has developed, are there any downsides, what has been gained? Also if someone has thoughts or information regarding this I would appreciate hearing from you.

Many thanks, Katrin
