Laurel,

A bottle reference that's a little closer to your area is:

The Bottles of Old Sacramento: A Study of Nineteenth Glass and Ceramic
Retail Containers. California Archaeological Reports No. 20. 1980.
197pp

It was published by The State of California Department of Parks and
Recreation. P.O. Box 2390, Sacxramento, California 95811 and if that
address is still good (probably is) you can likely still find a copy.
