Dear jennifer,

The German Modern Literature Museum, which recently opened and has won prizes (certainly for its architecture, perhaps also for the content) may be a good place to investigate, their website is: http://www.dla-marbach.de/dla/museum/limo/index.html
However, i'm not sure if they have a English version, you may have to look to see.

Also, Seven Stories, in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK is an exhibition centre focussed around children's literature and has changing exhibitions. Their website is: http://www.sevenstories.org.uk/home/index.php

I hope this is helpful for you,
Best wishes,
Susannah Eckersley PhD

In 1995, the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas organized the excellent Unpainted to the Last: Moby- Dick and American Art, 1930-1990, and published a catalogue of the same name. For more info: http://www.oread.ku.edu/Oread95/OreadAug25/page6/whale.htmlJill R. Chancey, PhD

Dear Colleagues,

As Experience Music Project|Science Fiction Museum plans its next exhibition with a genre fiction component, I am in search of other museums that have done exhibitions or projects based on literature. I have found many exhibitions on book arts, illustration, or specific authors (and of course there are many historic sites related to authors) and I am happy to have references to anything that people consider particularly well-done. What I am most interested in, though, are projects that cast the net a little more widely and especially those that deal with the texts themselves as primary sources.

Thanks so much!
