The site I work with places colonial clothing, games, toys and literature in the bins. They circulate throughtout the year to all the schools. We also have three separate bins one for each school level(el,ms,hs). We hope to use them to draw the students to come see the site, and not as an alternate to the site. There use according to teacher evaluations returned with each bin have be helpful and useful.
