EMPLOYMENT GENERALIST

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an Employment Generalist for the Human Resources Department.  Responsibilities include contributing to the Employment team ensuring that the Museum's recruitment needs are met with exceptional service and effective strategies. Developing and maintaining external networks and sources for obtaining a rich applicant pool is critical. This position serves as the contact and liaison for internal and external candidates.  The ideal candidate must have three to five years of proven recruitment experience with non-exempt and exempt positions, strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; non-profit experience desired.  Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or in a related field required.  Good knowledge of Federal, State, and Local compensation and employment laws. EDUCATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks an Education Program Assistant for the Education Department.  Responsibilities include providing administrative support for Education's Office of School, Family, Student, Teacher and Library Programs, responsible for all logistical and administrative support for Meet the MET and all on-site Family Programs.  The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and knowledge of PC's including word processing and database programs required, familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred, office experience desirable, experience working with young people desirable, Tuesday through Saturday schedule is required with additional Sunday hours when necessary, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail a must.  Bachelor degree required, interest or experience in art education or art history preferred. LIBRARY ASSISTANT-TECHNICAL SERVICES

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a Library Assistant-Technical Services for the Watson Library.  Responsibilities include processing duties carried out in the Cataloging and Acquisitions Units of Watson Library, processing newly ordered material, barcoding it, expediting it through the cataloging process, helping prepare it for binding, and labeling it.  All of these steps are crucial for processing the 10,000 volumes Watson Library acquires each year, and each step requires accuracy and attention to detail.  The ideal candidate must have library experience, ability to do detailed work accurately, aptitude for learning new software, ability to work flexibly and independently in a changing environment.  Bachelor's degree required and knowledge of one foreign language preferred.
