GRAPHIC DESIGNER

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a full-time, talented Graphic Designer for the Design Department.  The ideal candidate must have five to seven years of graphics experience to design varied print projects, signage, and exhibition graphics for the Museum.  The Graphic Designer must be able to work within budgets, on tight schedules, must be highly organized team player who is composed under pressure, able to handle several projects simultaneously, and have excellent people skills.  The candidate must be comfortable working with curatorial departments, outside vendors, assisting other designers, as well as working in tandem with the Museum's in-house production team to facilitate gallery installations.  Advanced computer skills are required in Quark XPress, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Outlook and Office.  Must be comfortable with scanning, digital printing, color correction, pre-press and press approvals.  Museum graphics experience a plus.  BA, BFA, or MA required.
