Marketing Assistant

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future. 

The Marketing Assistant is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the
Vice President, Marketing & Public Affairs.  This individual is responsible
for providing administrative support to the department’s VP and the
Marketing Department, as assigned, and must be able to handle a wide range
of tasks under pressure. Primary emphasis is on managing all paperwork and
files, keeping projects and paperwork flowing in a busy office, following
through and  implementing a number of projects for the VP of Marketing &
Public Affairs.

Responsibilities:
· Provide administrative support for the VP of Marketing & Public Affairs
and the Marketing Department.
·Track department’s purchase orders and organize all financial records for
the Marketing Department, ensuring prompt response and coordination of all
accounts.
· Perform office management of the Marketing Department: order and maintain
office equipment and supplies, ensure files and records are updated and
maintained; and prioritize and sort program records.
· Handle all correspondence for the VP of Marketing & Public Affairs.
Handle all free visits/passes donation requests.
· Gather data, prepare and distribute monthly, regularly-produced and
special Marketing reports.
· Maintain timelines and schedules, including but not limited to: monitor
calendars, confirm appointments,
handle phone calls, arrange meetings, and set up facilities and supplies. 
· Perform other Marketing Department duties as assigned.
· Work as museum's floor staff on assigned week days, weekend days and
holiday (one time per month and one holiday per year).


Requirements:
· 2 years of college or equivalent work experience in related field.
· Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks to get the job
done.
· A sense of time and urgency; ability to meet tight deadlines.
· A great team player: self-starter; flexible; good people skills; ability
to establish rapport, maintain relationships and work with the public.
· Good organizational skills and detail-oriented.
· Able to see the "big picture" and implement projects within that "big
picture".
· Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
Access), e-mail and the Internet. Experience with Adobe PageMaker or other
desktop publishing software is a plus.
