*Director of Development, Evanston History Center*
*Evanston, IL*

For more than a century, the Evanston History Center (EHC) has preserved
and shared the history of Evanston and the surrounding area, providing a
wealth of events and services including lectures, public events,
architectural walking tours, workshops, research services and exhibits.

In July of 2009 EHC became the proud owner of its headquarter space, the
National Landmark Charles Gates Dawes House in Evanston’s beautiful
Lakeshore Historic District. Now the EHC faces a new era of opportunity as
it seeks to further protect and preserve its historic home while reaching
out to an expanding audience.

The Director of Development will also oversee all development activities.
These include but are not limited to individual, corporate, government and
grant solicitations, membership maintenance and growth, annual and planned
giving and special events. The successful candidate is an experienced
leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a
demonstrated ability to excel in a team working environment. Candidate
should have experience using development software.

The Director will work closely with the Development Committee, the EHC
board and Executive Director to implement campaign strategy supporting all
aspects of the organizational mission. This individual will provide
guidance and expertise to board and staff in relationship development,
integrative long-range planning and professional practices. Hands-on,
high-level non-profit capital campaign experience is a must. Please send
letter of interest, resume, references and salary requirements to:
