Hello Deb,
While this was not a museum collaboration, but rather a collaboration
between an artist, a local arts organization and a whole lot of other
parties...it was pretty darn cool. Pittsburgh's Andy Warhol Bridge (also
known as the Seventh Street Bridge, also known as one of the 3 Sisters
Bridges) was massively yarn bombed last year. The partnership aspect was
interesting- it brought together a lot of communities that don't typically
intersect, and the reception from the public was very warm (yes, that might
be a pun- I worked in downtown at the time, so walking across the bridge
every day was very cool!). The blankets also didn't go to waste- they were
washed and repurposed for distribution to local shelters.

And it looks like Knit the Bridge has inspired a local library to do the
same thing: https://knitthebridge.wordpress.com/2014/02/01/inspired-by-ktb/
.

I'm sure if you reached out to the Fiberarts Guild or the organizers of
Knit the Bridge, they'd be happy to contribute.

Cheers,
