Hello,
I'm new to this list. So pardon me if this inquiry is aimed at the wrong
ears.
I'm a journalist in Portland, OR where we are about to host our first
"blockbuster" show: The Imperial Tombs of China. I'm working on a story about
how the show will impact the museum -- what's been ventured, what's to be
gained.
I'm looking for contacts or information about the effects of such shows on
museum finances and programing: Do they generate profits? Do they generate
larger budgets and additional fundraising strains? How do they affect
programming in the long run?
I'm looking for anectdotes, theories, hard numbers, examples -- right now the
net is cast wide. I work for the daily newspaper here, so any help --
particularly fast help -- will be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Randy Gragg
