Summary:

The Newseum is seeking an experienced writer to join its Exhibit Development team, which develops and updates exhibit content.

The Exhibits Writer will research, write and edit content for permanent and changing exhibits. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing exhibit content and updates in a fast-paced environment, while also working with Collections and Visual Resources teams to identify exhibit-related artifacts and images. The successful candidate will be a motivated idea person with strong research, writing and editing skills. Museum exhibit developers and writers who can work on deadline are encouraged to apply. A journalistic background is a plus, though not required.


Responsibilities, including but not limited to:


  *   Research, write and edit exhibit copy for Newseum exhibits.
  *   Synthesize information and write clear, concise exhibit text.
  *   Track news developments as they relate to gallery content.
  *   Plan long-range content.


Minimum Requirements:



  *   Bachelor's degree (or more).
  *   Five years writing experience.
  *   Excellent research and writing skills.
  *   Strong interest or background in the news media.
  *   Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on a variety of projects.
  *   Excellent computer skills.
  *   Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  *   High level of motivation.
  *   Abundant ideas.
