The Vancouver National Historic Reserve Trust is seeking a CEO.

The 366-acre Vancouver National Historic Reserve (Historic Reserve) is part
of a shared vision of four public agencies and the Reserve Trust to
coordinate management of a diverse historic site. The Historic Reserve was
established by Congress in 1996 and it is located in Vancouver, Washington
where the Pacific Northwest's varied cultural resources converge.
Vancouver's location on the banks of the Columbia River made the site of the
reserve critical to exploration, settlement, commerce, transportation, and
communication in the Pacific Northwest.  The grassy, tree-lined reserve, once
part of the lands of the Chinook, hosted explorers, Native Americans, fur
traders, soldiers, and famous officers during the 19th century, and became a
strategic site of international relations, military training, shipbuilding,
and Army Reserve training in the twentieth century.

The CEO reports to the Board of Trustees and has overall responsibility for
the fundraising, advocacy, program implementation, administration and public
relations of this not-for-profit agency.    With a staff of 10, the Reserve
Trust plans to add nine new staff positions during the coming year as funding
commitments become secure and critical decisions are made regarding
implementation of project plans. The FY 2001 budget is $2.3 million ramping
up substantially in future years. Candidates should have a strong history of
raising significant funds. The CEO will have a minimum of five years running
an organization. This individual should be entrepreneurial, but also
effective in working with all levels of government.   Substantial complex
project management experience is essential, especially involving development
or redevelopment.  Historic preservation and redevelopment credentials are an
asset. The position offers a base salary in the $75,000 to $105,000 range.
Please send your resume and cover letter by June 18, 2001, to: Waldron &
