  Anne,
  I use Past Perfect, too.  You don't have to back up the image files each time.  Once you have filled and backed up image folder 001, you don't need to do it again.  That also saves a lot of time.
   
  I also use the thumb drive for backups.  It is 1GB and cost less than $20.  We have about 14,000 records.  I back up to the thumb drive every day if I work in Past Perfect.  I periodically save the backup to an off-site computer. That computer never gets dropped, washed or lost.
