Katherine Coffey Award Call for Nominations
DEADLINE: JULY 15, 2003

Background
The Coffey Award is given each year by the Mid-Atlantic Association of
Museums (MAAM) to an individual in the Mid-Atlantic region to recognize
distinguished achievement in the museum field. The award consists of an
engraved plaque recognizing the individual's contributions to the museum
field. Recipients of this prestigious award will address the MAAM delegation
to the 57th MAAM Annual Meeting and the acceptance speech is published in
The Courier (the MAAM newsletter) and to the MAAM Web site.

Eligibility
Nominees should have worked as a paid museum professional for at least 10
years in a principal position. In addition, the nominee should have been
employed in the Mid-Atlantic region during the period of principal
contribution for which the award is being given. Nominees should demonstrate
accomplishment in their role and a record of service to the profession on
state, regional, national, and/or international levels. Nominees should also
have a proven record of service to the community in which the museum is
located.

The Coffey Award ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2003 during
the 57th MAAM Annual Meeting at the evening event hosted at The Newark
Museum.
