Audra,

Concerning Onset light-reading data-loggers: they are designed to sit in
one place and track the light levels at that spot for the designated
time-span. You do need to buy their software to download, view, and
manipulate their data. You could use them for spot-metering, by just
setting if down for a minute, programmed to read every 10 seconds, then
downloading it... that's a little labor intensive, but lots cheaper than
buying a stand alone light meter! You can set the loggers to read at a
great number of intervals, from every second or so to once a day. Computer
is essential, though.

Subject: Light meters

Great info on humidity meters.

How about the latest in light meters? Checking the onset site I found that
they had"Light Intensity Data Loggers".

What's the experience with these? Are they designed to be left in one place
to collect data over time or can you take several readings? It looks like
they need to be connected to your computer to get a reading.

Any other suggestions for light meters that would give "on-site" readings?

Thanks for the input!
