DISCOVERY CENTER ASSISTANT
Part Time, Weekends
 
The Petersen Automotive Museum, located in Los Angeles, California,
currently seeks a friendly, enthusiastic customer service oriented
individual to work weekends at the May Family Discover Center, the
Museum's interactive, hands-on children's gallery.  A position in the
Museum's Education Department, the Discovery Center Assistant will
interact with visitors, especially kids and will assist with the
development and implementation of monthly and other Center programs.
Light administrative duties and some lifting. Great opportunity for an
individual studying education and/or science. Must be able to commit to
14 hours/weekend.  High school degree and some college with course work
in education and/or science preferred.  Experience in an informal/formal
education setting as either a volunteer or paid position preferred.
Interest in physics, science, the automobile, and teaching these topics
to visitors, especially children preferred.  Excellent communication
skills with the ability to relate to both children and adults.  Please
