An easy workaround for fixed text for Internet Explorer users: Go to the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options..." and click "Accessibility..." Here you can force IE to ignore font sizes on all web sites. Firefox allows for even more control (by default it doesn't allow fixed sizes).

Peter's post represents one extreme of a discussion that requires balance. While I agree with much of what he said, his comments were delivered with a heavy dose of hyperbole, and there are more practical perspectives on accessibility.
