Several people have asked what ECHO is and if they can access it to
follow the Whitney Online there.

ECHO is a BBS here in New York run by Stacy Horn who is a graduate
of the NYU interactive telecommunications program. It has more than
2,000 members and 50 discussion groups and is one of the best online
salons going with a very New York attitude and an emphasis on
discussions of arts and culture. It's $19.95 a month for up to
30 hours of use with discounts for students and seniors. If you
have TELNET capabilities you should be able to connect at
<echonyc.com> but you still have to pay the monthly charge.

Ms. Horn runs it out of her cramped Greenwich Village apartment
on two 486-based computers with 35 phone lines. See, it doesn't take
much to make your museum interactive.
