Archaeological Plant remains are difficult to curate especially on a small
budget. I have found that packing them in polyethylene bags and placing them
in acid free boxes lined with ethofoam is the best way to keep them from
being damaged during storage and transport. Using the ethofoam as "shelves"
within the box will also allow you to store multiple bags within the same box
withou fear of damage. Another alternative I have used is lining a 35mm film
canister with ethofoam and muslin cloth and placing the seeds in the cloth
lining. That method works best for large seeds such as Apios and maize while
the first method is best suited to smaller seeds such as chenopodium and
polyginum.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions I may be
able to help you with.
