Museum colleagues,
The Museum Loan Network (MLN) Directory, an illustrated online database of
objects available for long term loan from museums around the country, now
contains over 4,000 objects. The MLN would like to learn if its Directory
is easy to use. To this end, we would be very appreciative of anyone who
would be willing to spend some time searching the Directory at
http://loanet.mit.edu/Directory/di_Access.htm The Directory is available
to museums only by password. To request a password, please contact the MLN
at 617-252-1888.
We encourage you to drop by the MLN booth (#868) at the AAM meeting in
Baltimore May 15-17, 2000 and give us your feedback. Your feedback will be
exchanged for as much energy-providing chocolate as you need.
If you're not attending AAM, call, e-mail or send us your comments at
anytime (and we'll mail you the chocolate).
We look forward to hearing from you.

The Museum Loan Network -- the first comprehensive national
collection-sharing program -- stimulates, facilitates, and funds long-term
loans of objects of cultural heritage among U.S. institutions to enhance
museums' permanent installations. Launched in 1995, the MLN is funded by
the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts
and is administered through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's
Office of the Arts.
