I have just placed a call to Pat Williams at the AAM to see if they take
a stand on this issue. I don't believe there is any legal distinction
between non-profit galleries and museums; nor is there much of a
distinction made by either the AAM or the IMS. I think many small
museums feel that the impact of their shows on the market value
of artists' work is negligible. But this is something to ponder,
especially as a museum's prominence grows. I'll let you know what I hear
from Pat.
