THE TECH MUSEUM OF INNOVATION
PART-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE
Admissions/Store Assistant

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

This is a temporary non-exempt, part-time position reporting to the
Admissions & Reservations Manager and the Tech Museum Store Manager.  The
Admissions/Store Assistant provides support in the daily operation of the
Museum Store and Admissions areas.

Responsibilities:
Admissions
* Greet and interact with visitors to The Tech Museum of Innovation.
* Provide general information about The Tech, its programs and exhibits.
* Offer excellent customer service.
* Handle computerized point of sale system in accordance with established
procedures.
* Assist in data entry and confirmation of Public Programs registrations.
* Process mail, answer phones, maintain clean area and assist in completion
of assigned tasks.
* Encourage membership sales amongst our visitors.
* Perform additional duties as required.
* Stock brochures and other publications.
* Handle programs registrations for individuals and groups.

Store
* Interface with customers, answer questions and demonstrate store products.
* Restock and maintain a clean and orderly selling floor.
* Encourage sales by assisting with displays and merchandise with minimal
supervision.
* Assist with the preparation and implemtentation of physical inventory.

Qualifications:
* Experience in sales or customer service
* Excellent communication skills
* Prior cash handling experience
* Ability to be flexible and work in a high pressure environment
* Punctuality is a must
* Ability to maintain a courteous manner with the public for a long period
of time
* Attention to detail and accurate work habits
* Neat and professional appearance
* Self-motivated and goal-oriented
* Computer literate (both Mac & PC is a plus)
* Fluency in a second language is a plus
* Willingness to work on weekends, holidays and/or evening hours according
to department's needs

Hours:  8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Tuesday - Friday

Salary:   $7.00 - $9.00/hour (commensurate with experience)
