PART-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE
Event Assistant

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Tech Museum of Innovation is seeking an Event Assistant to provide
support in the sales, marketing and management of special events at
TheTech. The event assistant position is a temporary, part time position
with no standard benefits reporting to the Special Events and Sales
Manager.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist the Special Events and Sales Manager in the marketing,
coordination and staffing of special events and provide administrative
support.
* Assist in the planning and staffing of corporate and private evening
events at The Tech.
* Coordinate logistics of event including catering, decorations, audio
visual needs and organize pre-event checklists and details.
* Serve as on-site contact for client during events, and maintain hands-on
event supervision to ensure quality event.
* Implementation of event set up and tear down.
* Supervise volunteer event staff.
* Manage mailing database for direct mailings to target markets, including
meeting and event planners, corporate contacts, convention contacts and
designated groups.
* Assemble materials for direct mailings and individual event prospects.
* Provide Special Events Manager with follow up report.
* Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must have previous related experience in event coordination
* Excellent verbal and written communication and skills
* Ability to prioritize and work independently, complete multiple tasks and
meet deadlines
* Motivated self starter
* Demonstrated sales ability
* Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
* Willingness to be flexible in scheduled hours
* Computer proficiency with database and word processing software

Hours:  Approximately 20-25 hours per month

Salary:   $10-$15 per hour, commensurate with experience and skills
