I am a recent graduate from a museum programme in Ontario (Canada). We had to accession a large medical collection as part of an exercise. The curator of the museum (it was a community museum) told us to dispose of the medicine.

As a side bar, are there laws about keeping dangerous drugs, ie. morphine, in the collection? Just a thought.

We are debating if we should leave thebottles of medicine as is, or if we should dispose of the contents (drugs) but keep the bottles. So folks, what have you done in the past?
