Although I have not participated in the writing of a business plan, offhand
I would say that the main difference between non-profit and for-proft
business is the signs of success. At a for-profit, if you are making a lot
of money you are successful. At a non-profit, good funding can be a sign of
success, but generally speaking you have to set out other objectives and
goals that your board agrees will signify success.
