It may be too low-tech for you, but you can't beat the simplicity and sense of the real thing by using repro stereoscopes and cards.  We do all the time as hands-on objects in our turn-of-the 20th century historic house.  Original images can be scanned too.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] stereograph exhibit planning

I am planning an exhibit on stereograph makers Underwood & Underwood, who started their business here in Ottawa, KS.  I want to include a video to accompany the exhibit and to use separately in our audio-visual room.  I¢m looking for advice about the best way to approach recreating the 3-D effect of the cards on a DVD.  I¢m planning to write a grant application to our state humanities council for this project, and need to determine what the cost of this will be.  Can anyone help with this?
