Sorry to be so long in answering the question posted earlier about
possible memorials for Bill Alderson, but I was out of town. As far as I
know, there are three such memorials in place.

AASLH set up a William T. Alderson Scholarship Fund several years ago.
Contributions may be sent to:

American Assn. for State & Local History
        530 Church St., Suite 600
        Nashville, TN 37219

The Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) is in the process of setting up
a William T. Alderson Fellowship. I believe this fellowship will be used
to award scholarships to students attending the annual SEMC meeting.
Contributions may be sent to the SEMC office at P. O. Box 3494, Baton
Rouge, LA 70821

Also, Bill was the coordinator for the Seminar for Historical
Administration in Williamsburg at the time of his death. Contributions
may be made in his memory to the SHA Scholarship Fund by writing to:

        Peggy McDonald Howells
        Manager, Museum Professional Services
        The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation
        P. O. Box 1776
        Williamsburg, VA 23187-1776
