AIG Corporate Research & Development

Business Librarians/Information Specialists

 

A leading financial services firm is seeking three business information specialists (one each in Hong Kong, Taipei, and Beijing) to join a team of experienced information professionals, to provide reference and research services to senior management and corporate employees.   

 

Candidates will have 5+  years in a financial services information center, with knowledge of financial and general business  information resources. Insurance knowledge a plus.    

 

The information specialists will :

  

·         Respond to research requests utilizing commercial and web-based databases and services,  in-house and external resources from all media

·         Review and summarize research results, write corresponding memos and present research 

·         Provide project monitoring and research support to information specialists - focus on research  quality:  thoroughness, accuracy, clarity

·         Participate in evaluation of business and insurance information products 

·         Assist with monitoring insurance & financial services industry trends, products and business issues through scanning, research and related trend research activities

·         Participate in regular product training and update sessions

·         Participate in collection development, information products review & evaluation 

 

Position Requirements.

 

Senior Manager, Information Research - Hong Kong 

M.L.S. (Master of  Library Science) Degree from an accredited library school.

 

5+  years experience in a financial services library, with demonstrated knowledge of  print and electronic research and information resources.   Insurance experience a plus !

  

Candidate must be comfortable in a strong service environment, with excellent interpersonal and written and general communication skills. 

 

Native fluency in Cantonese and proficient English are required.

 

Senior Manager Information Research, -- Taipei

5+  years experience in a financial services library, with demonstrated knowledge of  print and electronic research and information resources.   Insurance experience a plus !

Native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and proficient English are required.

 

Information Specialist -- Beijing

B.L.S. (Bachelor of Library Science) Degree from an accredited library school.

 

3+  years experience in a financial services library, with demonstrated knowledge of  print and electronic research and information resources.   Insurance experience a plus !

  

Candidate must be comfortable in a strong service environment, with excellent interpersonal and written and general communication skills. 

 

Native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and proficient English arerequired.
