Yes, that's the standard procedure with the automated LISTERV (and
similar) software.  It's the safest way even for List Managers, who have
far more options in relation to changing the configuration of their Lists
etc.

You can do it in a single two line e-mail to [log in to unmask]
(omitting all headers and signatures as usual) providing of course the
"unsubscribe" or "signoff" line listing the old address comes before the
"subscribe" line.
