< What other sports parallel the work of boards?>
Table tennis, fencing and all the other Olympic sports in which athletes
work as hard, but they're not televised for the general public the way beach
volleyball, swimming and gymnastics are. You might hear about the end
results, if you look for them, but much of the work, the successes and
tragedies, go unrecorded and unrecognized - I might add, even though there
are people in the general public who would be interested!

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] The Marathon of Board Service
Hello, colleagues --
I've been inspired by the Olympics to compare board service to a marathon.
How are they alike? Respect, training and pacing are three shared
characteristics.
