Ms. Danielson's statement rings of great truth. With a B.A. in Art I
wasnt' much of a hiring prospect for anyone. I did find a full time job,
but it was not art related. After much discussion with my spouse, I
maintained my full-time job and returned to school for a master's degree
that eventually landed me a job in a museum that paid less than what I
had been earning. But it was well worth it, because along the years I
learned much, and am now doing work that is stimulating and interesting
to me. Money helps, but the satisfaction of doing something that
actually allows you to practice what you have learned is indescribable.
