opportunity for a new or returning professional to work in a exciting
and vibrant small museum with an engaged board of directors and

include some or all of the following:

* Performing inventories and maintaining relevant database records
* Processing donations (photographing artifacts, cataloguing books
and magazines, filing ephemera)
* Processing incoming and outgoing artifact loans, and recording
their condition
* Scanning library materials and developing updates for the
museum's website
* Minor cleaning (dusting, vacuuming, replenishing bathroom and
cleaning supplies)
* And other duties as assigned
Salary: $20,000 per annum, part-time (20 hours per week).
Start date: Ideally not later than June 1, 2011, and earlier if possible
Benefits: This position does not include benefits.
Hours: There is considerable flexibility in scheduling hours, but they
will usually include one weekend day.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should be outgoing, have excellent
communication skills, and be able to connect with people across a broad
range of ages and interests. Prefer candidates holding at least a
bachelors degree, ideally in history, museum studies, or a related
field. Prior experience in museum operations is a plus. Knowledge of
basic software (Windows, Word, Excel, Access, and Photoshop) is helpful;
familiarity with Past Perfect is another plus.
To apply: Email a resume, letter of application, and three professional
references to
Dr. Chris Sterling, president of the NCRTV Museum, at [log in to unmask]
by not later than
