I have been out all day installing an Internet connection in rural New
Mexico and I come back to a long thread of discussion with one person in
particular calling many other people names. Several of the posts from
this same individual have been very ugly.

This thread must stop now. If there have been inappropriate messages to
you from this person off the list, then it is entirely appropriate to
report abusive e-mails to the Internet Service Provider of the offender.

This thread needs to stop now. The original posting that started it all
was WAY off topic, and the ensuing flame war is also off topic. If
subscribers wish to discuss the impact of war (any war) on cultural
heritage, then that is an appropriate topic. Certainly there has been
discussion concerning this issue since the start of the war in Iraq.

No matter your political persuasion, we are cultural heritage
professionals and we need to behave as such.
