I second the Miehle vote. Durable, easy to use, and since many of my
volunteers are 60+ in age, it's lightweight for their willing but
not-so-strong anymore bodies.

For the historic house folks amongst you - do you have a favorite vacuum
type that is suitable for both cleaning the high traffic areas as well as
doing double duty for curatorial needs? (i.e., has a low suction option).
