But, many of the refugees have been moved to shelters out of the immediate
area, and *are* able to use cell phones. I've been in constant communication
via cell phone with a N.O. friend currently housed in the Lake Charles, LA
Civic Center. Refugees are being sent far and wide, to Texas, to other
states... a cell recycling program that could help them would be useful, but
I don't know of one that exists yet. I'd try calling Verizon, Cingular, etc.
and asking, I guess.
