An excellent source for moving and storage is Carolyn L. Rose, et al., Storage
of Natural History Collections: A Preventative Conservation Approach,
published by the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections,
1995.

The title may indicate that only natural history collections are discussed.
The source, however, is very thorough. It covers all aspects of creating and
managing storage facilities, environments, equipment, materials and storing
archival collections and collection documentation. It even covers funding for
collections care.
