We recently had a visitor to our museum, a historic home, who asked several
questions about how we clean our textiles during the tour. When I inquired
about her interest, she told me she is looking for a way to clean her
mother's wedding dress, a sari. The sari is made of a silk- blend and sewn
together with 24- carat gold thread. She is planning to put it into
storage, and I told her I would make some inquiries on how best to go about
the cleaning of the sari. If anyone has suggestions, they would be greatly
appreciated!
Thanks,
