If you work in exhibits or marketing, please read on; this weekend forum for
good talk among colleagues may be for you! On February 22 - 24, 2002, staff
at The Franklin Institute, Philadelphia, PA, will host "Creating marketable
experiences."

Science centers and museums are moving toward becoming more market-driven
institutions. If we are to create the best possible experiences for our
visitors, we need to find new ways to combine the strengths of our marketing
and our design teams. What role should marketing play in exhibit
development? What role should design play in marketing exhibits?
Participants will discuss these important questions and challenges.

For more information about this ASTC RAP, contact Alice Krupit:

To register, contact Randy Andrews: 215-448-1093; [log in to unmask]
<mailto:[log in to unmask]> . Fees: ASTC member - $ 50 US; nonmember - $ 100
US. Deadline for registration is Februrary 15.

"Roundtables for the Advancement of the Professions" (RAPs) help answer the
need for year-round professional development for the science center field.
In short sessions hosted by ASTC-member institutions worldwide, RAPs provide
opportunities for museum professionals, at minimum cost, to network, to
expand their knowledge base, and to identify resources.
