We were having a WWII living history on-site, and one of the fellows was portraying a soldier of the 121st Combat Engineers, so he had a considerable amount of (inert) explosives - TNT, pole charges, satchel charges and the like. He had several TNT fuses stuck in his helmet netting, so as to get at them quickly when needed. After explaining to an inquiring visitor what the fuses in his helmet were, this visitor thought for a few seconds then inquired, "Well why would you want to blow up your helmet?"
