Dear colleagues, yesterday Apple Computer introduce Ipod Video (called The
New Ipod) a new device build on the base of one of the most success device
of this decade (Apple sell more Ipod in few year than Sony sell Walkman in
20 years).

As many of you better know, Apple with Ipod, with Itunes and Itunes Music
Store create a revolution in the music sector.

Also the massive use of Ipod create the term PodCasting (a new term to call
the usage of audio files)
From few months Podcasting is now inside museums with many podcast used to
guide visitors in museums or with a different point of view comments about
an artwork.

But now with Ipod Video and with the chance to delivery Video (protect with
a Digital Right Management system) via Itunes Music Store, free or charging
a fee, I trust that a new way of communication, for museums, will become.

Just think that it is possible to distribuite video of a Museum or an
exhibition. Promotional Video to attract visitors, or Video to use as a
Guide of a museum or an exhibition.
Or it is possible to have video about the author of an artwork, so visitors
can see the artwork and the video on how it was made.

And institutions don't need to buy devices, The new Ipod (video) will become
very popular, soon (next Xmas), as Ipod. Your Institution can sell videos on
Itunes Music Store and every one can buy (Windows and Mac users), put in own
Ipod and use when visit you.

As Museumland.net we still try to do something to promote this "Video
revolution", I'm interest to have feedback from all of you to have a chance
for an official deal with Apple for high consideration of videos from our
sector.

All the best
