MAGAZINES AND BOOKS IN MUSEOLOGY (GERMAN/ENGLISH)+ GERMAN THESAURI

Dear Museum-lers,

I have been asked by a very old lady to forward this to the museum-l list:

She owns a woolen "Navajo rug" with natural dies in grey, red and black, which
was brought to Europe by her son in 1919. During the war her son was travelling
in the states visiting also some trade posts. The rug is in good condition,
about 80 x 200 cm. Does anyone know something about the value of such a piece?
The already took it to Sotheby`s but here in Europe there was nobody being able
to tell her anything on the value. I checked several books for her on market
prices of these Navajo rugs, but there were big differences and no way to fix a
price, (f.e.: between 10.000 and 20.000 $).
She does not intend to sell it, it seems to be a question a equality of values
someday to be distributed to her daughters.

Thanks in advance
